The Silver Linings Playbook is an upcoming comedy film directed by David O. Russell,[1] from a screenplay by Russell, adapted from the serio-comic novel by Matthew Quick. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Anupam Kher, and Julia Stiles.

It tells the story about a former teacher who, after spending four years in a mental institution, moves back in with his mother and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. The film is set for release in the US on November 22, 2012.

Mark Wahlberg was cast in the lead role but the director decided to go with Bradley Cooper instead.[9] Anne Hathaway was originally cast, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.[10]

Production of the film began in October 2011.
